Re: Getting them to Stay?
Attracting martins has proven to be quite frustrating. After years of trying to attract some and playing the Dawnsong I finally got an ASY male to adopt the site and he stayed around for about a week. He attracted a female who went into his compartment and both would fly around above the house feedi...

Re: Prognosticator Software
No need to buy Microsoft Excel, at least not if you have a free Microsoft account. Microsoft has what they call Web Apps which are slightly scaled down versions of the normal programs. The Prognosticator should work with the Excel free web app. Check the following link for details: https://www.micro...

Thanks for all the replies. All the comments seem to make sense. I agree Dennis that the Dawnsong is really effective in bringing them in but this ASY male pays no attention to it which I think is a good sign. He goes for the gourd pole, not the aluminum house that has the speaker under it. Just a b...

New Colony Establishment in Indiana?
Yesterday (Father's Day) I received what possibly might be one of the best gifts ever. We came home from church and an ASY pair of martins were sitting on the peak of my roof. The female flew off but the male stayed around a long time, all afternoon, and ignored my Trio house with gourds hanging fro...

Thanks for the response, BigT. I haven't moved yet but it is good to know that there are active colonies and martin enthusiasts in west central Ohio. If we move I will definitely try to contact you. Not sure what a Buckeye is, but I've been in Indiana for 12 years and still don't know what a Hoosier...

Martineers In West Central Ohio
There is a possibility I may be relocating to the Dayton/Vandalia/Tipp City area in Ohio and was just wondering if there were any landlords or martin organizations in the area to network with.

Wyatt, You can go to this page http://cipmaweb.org/ASP/colony_add.asp or on the blue navigation bar at the top of the entry pages select 'Colony Menu' and then "Add New Colony'. That wil get you back to see the regions. Tim, Don't worry about it, I went back and corrected it. No harm done. Go a...
