Anyone eliminate ( get rid of ) the "pesky" Tree Swallows?

thinking of getting one to watch my birds - any experience with this will be helpful

Using 9 gauge single strand utility & brace fence wire to make owl guards for plastic gourds. Need help with how far out and apart to place the wire from entrance holes.

How do you know it was the same Martin? I can't tell one bird from another! The most important thing is that there are more babies on the way.

Have about 40 Martins - finding feathers scattered around my lawn. Not in piles, just a feather here and a feather there. Mostly wing feathers, not the fluffy breast type feathers. Do Martins lose these from time to time? Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Only on a couple of my gourds - 100's of them crawling all over the outside of gourds. I have to assume they are inside the gourds also. Any way to get rid of them outside of complete nest change? - Thanks

Have bo11 gourds with tunnels and I don't think there are any owl guards you can purchase for these. Any help would be appreciated. Losing martins left and right to these thieves.

Haven't seen any, but have my suspicions - What evidence would you look for?

If Cresent and Clinger entrances were your ONLY choices, which would you use and why? I have both and want to use the one that will provide the most protection. _ Thanks

Tried for many years with only a few visitors. All of a sudden last year they were fighting over nesting holes.

Anyone out there who can explain or show setup for artificial gourds and shepherds hook to accommodate Tree Swallows? How to and what with to hang the gourd, height of pole, predator guards if needed, etc. Someone in a recent post said they used this system but did not explain the details. Hope that...

Have had lots of Tree Swallows the last several years flying around my lake and property. They usually show up here the middle of March. Would like to provide some housing for them and would really like any suggestions on type, size, setting up etc.
