Anyone out there who can explain or show setup for artificial gourds and shepherds hook to accommodate Tree Swallows? How to and what with to hang the gourd, height of pole, predator guards if needed, etc.
Someone in a recent post said they used this system but did not explain the details. Hope that someone sees this topic and has the time to respond.
Pics would be great if anyone has any!

You can put a predator guard on them, too.
So that's not a photo of one on shepherd's hook, but you can get the idea. Make sure you place the hook into ground securely so a raccoon can't pull it over, and use a predator baffle too.
