Hi, I posted on April 5th that I had not even seen a Martin. May 1st a male came and sat on my house and talked to me. The next day a sub adult male came and checked the house and gourds. Well, they stayed around for 3 days, not staying at night just in the day time. The sub adult has been here ever...

We are going to take the set up down and clean. I am going to plug the holes and put it back up... Do you think that will help or should I just take them down and wait till next year?

Sheryl you are so lucky....I am just south of you at 1604 and 471. I have not gotten any Martins this year. Same set up as had since 95. Upgraded and had them last year. I see them feeding over head but none have even checked out my set up....I am so discouraged. I am fighting nasties, keep cleaning...

I have had Martins since 1995. I put up housing the end of January. I see 4 martins flying and circling but they have not even checked out my house or gourds. Thanks for the reply. I am supposing that my birds from last year are just slow in coming back this year. I see that everyone in San Antonio has them and there seems to be more posts from SA, so maybe they are just spread out. I will keep hopeing.......

We are just about five miles from Scully, as the martin flies, we are in the northwest part of San Antonio. Hope everyone has a good year. Suppose to rain tonight. We need it so bad.

Congrats Scully, I guess mine will be along soon. They usually follow yours in. We changed all round holes to cresent. Sure hope no one is offended and will fly right in. I don't want to fight the starlings this year like I did last. Will let you know

I haven't had any starlings until the last few days. My babies are already bringing in nesting material as of today. Do we dare put the doors on now or will this make them not want to nest. The instructions said it might take 30minutes to two weeks for them to adjust. What should I do?
