:-( I have had two males for the last two days. They are here in the morning, come back around noon and then about four. They are feeding above the gourds and house, but they don't spend the night. We changed from all round to cresent with porches. We have had both for the last 14 years. I am puzzled if the cresents are not letting them  stay or they just checking it out?

And gradually am changing over to mostly all crescent. Have about a 50-50 mix right now. When I first started my colony, I had all round, figuring it would be easier for the SY's I was trying to attract. Since then I have started to change over. But I believe I will leave a low percentage of round holes for the more crescentally challenged. Don't know if it helped, but I figured it couldn't hurt to start with round at a new site and if i was successful then switch over. Maybe the ASY's would be more site imprinted and make the adjustment easier to crescents. That was my thought anyway. Don't know one way or the other if this is true or not.

Thanks for the reply. I am supposing that my birds from last year are just slow in coming back this year. I see that everyone in San Antonio has them and there seems to be more posts from SA, so maybe they are just spread out. I will keep hopeing.......
