A few of us are planning on getting together on June 2nd and 3rd at jerral Johnson's colony in Rainsville Alabama.. Not to see martins but to see one another.. for those who are interested only..

I am of the opinion that a section of six inch pvc pipe at least five feet long at the bottom of the pole will also work. I had the pvc for years but I always had it backed up with electric guards. However Emil tells me it works for him and I sure believe him

Very very interesting Emil. I am helping a friend with some gourds this year. I will sure give that a try. It may be a very important part of the martin equation.

Very interesting Emil. I tried sreh cut directly into naturals many years ago without the porch and they didn't work very well for me. The small porches may make all the difference. Do martins seem to like them?
