Invader in the sky

With the change of times, how do the martins handle the idea that some one in the area likes to fly there drone around my site,I know that I’m not doing well with it,hope that it doesn’t disrupt my feathered friends.

Re: predator question

Good question, you may never know what happens in the nest at night, unless you see it with your own eyes, you can assume every scenario in the book,I think I would hook up a night vision camera, have it record to a Dvr,then you would be able to see what's going on 24/7,there are some good stater kits o...

Re: Northern Mn..ASY male here 6 days

If you haven't already, try stuffing some pine straw in each gourd, that would be the white pine, soft needle dried out not green,I make a nice layer in each of my gourds, just might be what you need to satisfy the female, good luck.

Re: Martins are gone (and I can't figure this out)

Sounds familiar,I have been an active landlord since 1995,started with 8 gourds on a pole, few years later added another pole with 8 gourds, never had 100 percent full, which is normal here, but pretty close,so all seemed good until last year I started noticing a frequent visitor, and martins disappearin...

Re: Tree swallow question

I have 3 bluebird houses 100ft from my gourd poles, never had issues with them showing interest in the gourds, there more concerned competing with the blue birds.

Re: Might have messed up - (Northwest KS)

Hey kyler,in the future think about hanging a gourd on each perching rod, could make your site more inviting, don't forget to line the bottom with a nice bedding of dried white pine meddle, your picture looks good.

Re: I'm ready for Fred bird!

Having martins here since 1995 and returning on a timely basis,I'm beginning to start to feel homeless, haven't seen or heard anything yet ,so I guess I'm looking for my Fred bird too.
