Somebody 'splain this to me. Is she a rare speciman or just a veteran? It would be interesting to know how her offspring turn out. I wonder if her white plummage makes her more noticible to prey.
I've seen partial albinism in grackles several times. A couple of years ago, I saw a young grackle that was completely sandy in color. It wasn't pure white, but it wasn't anywhere near the normal dark brown/black color. Unfortunately, those rarities don't usually last too long in the wild. This partial albino female martin appears to be doing fine with a relatively small amount of while on her. Thanks for the picture!
Wow! She is really pretty. I know in cockateils they call it "pied" when they are speckeled like that. Let us know how the babies turn out!! Great pics!
