Very nice photo Ron! She appears to be a blonde w/highlights...and you know what they say about blondes :!:

She's having more fun :!:

At a closer glance, it doesn't appear like she's a 'natural' blonde. My wife has a knack for doing those sort of things being a hair stylist

Ron, hope it's ok as I set the lower photo as my desk top background.

Now I need to buy a spray paint gun and paint some of my martins.

Somebody 'splain this to me. Is she a rare speciman or just a veteran? It would be interesting to know how her offspring turn out. I wonder if her white plummage makes her more noticible to prey.

How does this happen?

Great Picture, Ron! Never seen anything like it.

I've seen partial albinism in grackles several times. A couple of years ago, I saw a young grackle that was completely sandy in color. It wasn't pure white, but it wasn't anywhere near the normal dark brown/black color. Unfortunately, those rarities don't usually last too long in the wild. This partial albino female martin appears to be doing fine with a relatively small amount of while on her. Thanks for the picture!

Golly, that is a beautiful female. How imnpressive that she has been able to survive, and especially so if she is an ASY bird.

I'm wondering though if the male martins will recognise her as a member of their own species.
