This morning about 7:15 my husband, Grady, discovered a Martin flying around one of our gourd poles, and we had not put up any gourds. You can't image how fast gourds went up at our place! She arrived about two weeks early and the temperature was 27 degrees. We are hoping for warmer weather.

Congratulations on your first returning martin
I am glad you were there when she wanted to come back home....keep her tucked in for the next few nights. Hope your weather warms up soon and best wishes for you and your martins this season

Its amazing they still fly into and live in cold weather. These birds are very hardy. I'm still waiting on mine to come here to LaPlace, La. Last year, they finally arrived and started taking up residency on Feb. 25th.
