I will be ordering the Worm Gear Brake winch with the cordless drill adapter . I think this is the way to go for us older people or people with hand and wrist problems !

Great video , Thanks for sharing it with us ! My birds won't return until about March 21st-2018 here in southeastern Ohio but this gives me the fever too work on my setup . I only have 30 gourds (THG , TVG & Bo9's ) and I have T-10 in storage ,need to think about that T-10 ? Thanks again .

Where I live here in Ohio ,(Belpre ) I have never had a problem and the soil is very sandy here .

Has anyone converted a AAA16 from rope and pulley to a winch , this is on the Troyer 2" pole / 16 gourds . If so can you order everything from Troyer ? Thanks

You spend 30 min explaining to someone that their purple martins are realy tree swallows !

I'm in southeastern Ohio and I have about half of what I should have at this time of year .

My numbers are also down and I hope that I get an increase from the SY 's . As Dave Reynolds said ,we should see an increse in the next week or two here in the Ohio valley .

I have had Bo-9's for 5 years and have had no problems with them. I do take them down and clean them
with bleach water then store them for winter .

Nest building has started on my AAA16 .. Life is good here in the Ohio valley !

Cold here this morning 38° here along the river with ran and snow today . Hope my martins make it until Saturday when temps rebound .

Chet, I have the same problem here , Like you said they come and go and may build a nest or not. I will do nest checks on Friday 6/6/14 , Then I will know !

I live by the RailRoad track and I have seen the martins picking up small pieces of limestone there, Don't know what they do with it !

bluetick, sorry about your loss, I see my martins harassing my tree swallows sometimes ,Don't know if that could have been what happened.

I built a T-10 this winter and the only thing in so far are sparrows, The martins seem to like the BO-9 and BO-11's and my old S&K house but not the T-10, As smeone said time will tell .
