When I was cutting Grass last night I saw my female tree swallow laying about 50 feet from her box dead. I don't know what killed her. If I did I would kill it. I watch the box for two hours and all I saw was a bluebird perched on the perch a few times. Will bluebird kill a tree swallow? She had 5 eggs in her box. The male is still there and singing all the time but she is not coming home. He was out there this morning chirping. They were real tame. You could walk right up to them. I didn't see a mark on her. Maybe she just died. She acted to be in great health the day before as they were out on the perch breeding. What happened to her? My Martins are doing fine. I have plenty of bluebird boxes so they shouldn't have been a fight for them. I do have two pair of bluebirds nesting in the same area. Dave

I found a dead one by one of my ponds on Sunday. No marks either.. I have several pairs nesting on my property and a bunch of "singles" Sad to see it happen. It's never the sparrows or starlings..
