Yes, my anxiety is high. Two have fledged with one more to go. I had about 30 martins stop by this morning and am amazed and thrilled at the same time that I am still seeing them this late in August. It was about 113 for 3 days straight here and thought I would loose them but they made it through.

I have had anywhere from 8 to 35 martins everyday since August 1. I am so amazed I have never been through this. They must be coming from the north. Apundt, I looped the cable around the nut on bottom plate ran it through the hole in the top plate, put the cable through the pulley, ran it through the hole iin the top plate down through the bottom plate to the winch. That seems like what is happening but when straightened out it still silos out.

Yes, I think I do. The hang up seems to be at bottom of house where the plate is. It is slipping out of groove and going to other side and the house is turning.

One side screws down but the other side just goes down to the winch through the slot. This is where it is hanging up. Slipping out of the slot and wrapping around the pole. There is no hole or guide to hold it in place. I really appreciate everyone's help. I am not good at explaining.

Emil, the bottom plate on the house has two slots, one on each side. One side of the cable has a uhf clip on it that you loop over the screw on the plate. Please help. I put on the winch and cable but every time I try to raise it or lower it the side that is not screwed down comes out of the slot and wraps around the pole. Please help. I've got 3 here and I cannot get the house to go up or down. DESPERATE!

The martins are now roosting at S.E. 6th and Lincoln in the trees around the Regatta Park parking lot in the Boathouse District. I saw them tonight and it was beautiful.

Ray, we went to the end of the canal by the sculptures Thursday and they were not roosting there. Several hundred were above us at one time but did not land in the trees. That is why I wanted to know if they moved. I would love to meet with you on August 8 but I am uncertain that they will be there....

I went to see the roost tonight by the last run. I saw 2 or 3 hundred circling but did not land. Went by Cheseapeak and Journal record and didn't see them. Does anyone know where they have gone? Please help!
