I have had anywhere from 8 to 35 martins everyday since August 1. I am so amazed I have never been through this. They must be coming from the north. All you northern landlords just know that your babies have a safe place to stop on their way home. I still have 2 babies that haven't fledged and just the male here. I think is is calling them in. My season is usually over by July 13 but I had a renest and that is why their still here. Is anyone having the same experience?

Yes, as I posted, I thought they were all gone and low and behold the last gourd had a baby fly out of it. Man did he squawk when I picked him up and put him back into the gourd! Thank God he stayed in while I hoisted the houses back up. The parents did come back around. This was last week into this week. Today is the first day that I haven't seen them. I hope that when I recheck that gourd that he's gone along w any siblings. Quite unnerving !

Yes, my anxiety is high. Two have fledged with one more to go. I had about 30 martins stop by this morning and am amazed and thrilled at the same time that I am still seeing them this late in August. It was about 113 for 3 days straight here and thought I would loose them but they made it through.
