Hi to all,
We are not having a very good year. We found out about 6 weeks ago that Bob has cancer of pancreas with a large mass. Its spread to his lungs, lymph nodes and bones.
We are thinking about selling our home and moving to the old farm place down the ridge. I was going to try to see if some of our martins would move to the new location. I pulled up three gourd racks and 4 of the metal houses. I’m going to try to get them in the ground next week. Than I’ll slowly move the rest.
Our son Jerry moved last fall and we pulled all of his houses and poles yesterday. Maybe he’ll get a few of the birds from this large colony as well. The birds are going to be in shock around here, because I’m only putting up two houses with 12 compartments. That will be a far cry from 182 pair of martins.
I’ll let you know if any of the birds are willing to move with us.

I'm sorry to hear of Bob's illness.
As you know, I've driven by your place in southern Missouri. It's in one of the most beautiful settings I've just ever seen in the country -- rolling green pastures for miles.
I know you bring kids over from an elementary school in the summer. Maybe someone at the school could take and manage some of the housing. If you'd like me to contact them, send me a PM.

Cheri,
Prayers on the way and hoping for the best. I have a brother-in-law that has beaten cancer in the liver. It is a long hard struggle but we are winning more and more of the battles against cancer.
