Hi...just wanted to post on here that we are selling our house where we have established 60+ pairs of martins over the years in Central PA. I have the martins trained to eat mealworms from a platform when I whistle. I am adding the link to our home.
Thanks,
Hunter Hart

- Martin Colony History: Several colonies with in 6 mile radius.
Have had visitor every year 2014-24.
Two large trees removed in fall 2024 and moved T-14 to a more open location.
2025- 1 SY pair. Fledged 2.
That would be quite a dilemma. We have discussed downsizing as well, but after attracting my first pair last year, that is off the table! I hope whoever purchases your home realizes how fortunate they are to ‘inherit’ such a large colony.
Bellefonte PA
2014, 1st year-a few lookers, no nests
2015-23. Visitors each year. But no pairs.
2024- most active year. 2-4 SY male’s hang out most days.
2025, 1 SY pair. 2 eggs, 2 fledged!! Other martins visited daily.
Still eliminating starlings and sparrows.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to move! It took me 5 years to get the first pair. Never thought I would be moving but hopefully may move to a house where I can try to start another colony. Good luck this year!
