Was mowing the lawn and two seemingly large shallows came for the dragonflies out now. One was total dark and the other was dark with a brown chest. I'm so hoping I've been found my site for next year !!!

I sure hope so, CT! Keep that housing up and the 'vacancy' sign on. With martins moving through, I sure hope a few take notice and seek you out in the spring of 2024.

Very well could be. Could also be barn swallows. While my martins will from time to time swoop down while I'm mowing, 9 times out of 10 it is barn swallows who always join in.

No these had no white on them, very dark bodies and seemed rather larger then tree swallows I've seen around for years.
