Had the good fortune to visit the roost in Austin Texas last weekend for the first time in a few years. Very nice, easily accessible roost. There was a good crowd of spectators there to watch and the Martins put on a great show. I hope everyone has the opportunity to see a roost in their area. If not, here's a video of some of the action from the Austin roost. Towards the end of this video I moved up close to the trees for filming in order to catch some of that characteristic "waterfall" sound of the activity of the birds in the trees. It's been a rough season here dealing with the heat, the drought, and the predators but seeing these birds "celebrate" like this at the end of the season always lifts my spirits. Cheers everyone!

Wow! Thanks for that, after the beat down they took this year those sights give you hope. Neat knowing one or a whole bunch of YOUR fledges are in that group isn't it?
Austin has a lot to offer, can watch the Mexican free tail bats and martins!
