Martin Colony History: 2018 will be my first try. 6 S&K B09s. 29 eggs - 8 fledged
2019 - 12 Troyer Horizontals with tunnels, 6 S&K B09s and 12 B011s all with tunnels. 43 eggs - 36 fledged
2020 - Rack 1 - 6 B011s, Rack 2 - 24 B011s, and Rack 3 - 24 Troyer Horizontals. All gourds have tunnels, porches and crescent/Conley 11 entrances; racks have predator guards. 161 eggs - 88 fledged.
2021 - 54 gourds-214 eggs, 184 hatched, 168 fledged.
2022 - 3 racks of 24 gourds. 363 eggs, 294 hatched, 278 fledged.
2023 - 3 racks of 24 gourds. 321 eggs, 276 hatched, 246 fledged.
2024 - 3 racks of 24 gourds. 330 eggs, 283 hatched, 250 fledged.
2025 - 3 racks of 24 gourds. 347 eggs, 281 hatched, 266 fledged.

Haven't seen martins now is at least a week. This morning around 10 there were 3 birds over my property. Didn't show any interest in the gourds; just checking out the old homestead, perhaps. I suppose our birds here in south Florida are hanging out in trees at night rather than in gourds and are preparing to join pre-migratory roosts before the trip south. Any comments from you experts?

Well I’m not an expert but I think you right with your observation. Same is happening here. Just some fly bys and an occasional perching. The most I counted was a little over 10. Today about 5 or 6. My neighbor sent me a posting of a radar showing the martin roost in Mandeville, Louisiana at the Mandeville Causeway. It’s interesting how they can identify these large groups of migratory martins. Hope your season was a good one. Brent

Same here in Southaven MS. Last week had four females and two males flying around. This morning three more came buy. Not sure if they are returning to the old nest or if these are migrating, from further north, Nevertheless I'm going to leave my houses up until September,

I had a group of about 8 hanging out this morning. So they all haven’t left yet for the big causeway roost but I’m sure it will be very soon..
I enjoy their morning visits..

I still have a dozen or so landing on the perches every morning, but they don't hang out very long.

I saw a small group circling my site 2 days ago, but nothing since then. I think that’s it til next season. Cleaned the houses and gourds out today..
