Hello everyone,
Someone is going to gift me this house for a project I’m working on. The house is said to be around 20 years old and they haven’t been able to get martins. I believe it is a Heath house, and while doing research it looks like they have discontinued this house or I did not find it. If anyone knows where to find parts for this house that would be great!
Things I’m looking for (in order of most concern to least)
Different entrances (crescent, definitely starling resistant)
Owl guards
Perches
A winch system instead of the rope pulley system
Square pole (which means I would have to attach it differently, ideas appreciated)
Thank you!
Kelly
Kelly,
Thats a trio house. Good old one too.
You can try looking up Erva Nature house, then on the left side click on wild birds, then purple martins. Erva took over the houses. Its plenty worth re doing. I re did one of these recently. In fact, if you cannot find a winch I can send you one, complete with wire. You won't have to change the pole, they are made for them.
You'll get lots of replies.

Thank you! I really appreciate it, I'll keep everyone updated. I don't know this type of housing (worked with trendsetter and gourds mostly before) any other tips are appreciated!
Thank you again!

No problem, there's folks here that are absolute fanatics about this style. Its an old one waiting for TLC, worthy of bringing back and housing martins.
When u want that winch, shoot me an email. Just click on my profile name and you will find it. Free of charge, I have some extras.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I'm working on putting in a public colony for Missouri young birders club that I'm a part of.
They are in good hands! Not a problem at all. Its got a bunch of moving parts, if you need assistance in attaching the hardware to the house ask here on the forum. Title it something like "Trio fanatic call to arms", that will get their attention
In fact, let me dig in the attic for Trio stuff before you go buying and I'll see. I know iv got subfloors. May have crescent trio entrances with porches, if iv got the doors, Ill send those too.
