Martin Colony History: I live on Keystone Lake which is 25 miles west of Tulsa Oklahoma. For 2020 I will be offering: 1 Gemini rack with 12 Troyer Horizontal and 12 Troyer Vertical gourds, 1 Multi-Purpose pole with 2 Trio M12K houses with expanded compartments and 4 S&K Bo 11 Plus gourds with clinger tunnels, 1 Multi-Purpose pole with 2 Trio Mini-Castles with expanded compartments and 4 Troyer Vertical Gourds underneath, 1 MPP pole with 2 Trio MSS12 houses with expanded compartments, 3 Super gourds and 1 Excluder gourd underneath, 1 Fountain Gourd rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds, 1 AAA16 rack with 8 Troyer Horizontal and 8 Troyer Vertical gourds, 1 rack with 3 S&K Double Gourds, 1 Trendsetter 16 house with 4 Troyer Vertical Gourds underneath and 1 S&K Barn style house with expanded compartments and 2 gourds underneath. This will be a total of 127 nesting cavities offered for 2020. Hopefully this will help to increase my numbers over 2019 which were 60 active pair that fledged 274 babies.

Saturday, August 17, 8:15 p.m. North end of parking lot at Hilton Garden Inn Tulsa Airport

All invited to join us at 6:45 p.m. for dinner at the Tulsa Airport Hilton Garden Inn
Every summer Tulsa hosts a Purple Martin roost, and this year the martins are back at the Tulsa Airport, in the hundreds of thousands! This time they are near the two airport hotels. The official Tulsa Audubon Purple Martin Roost Watch will meet at the Airport Hilton Garden Inn parking lot on Saturday, August 17 at 8:00 p.m. to observe this wildlife spectacle.

Everyone is also invited to join TAS members to talk about Purple Martins and have dinner/drinks/snacks at 6:45 p.m. at the Hilton’s Garden Grille & Bar prior to the watch. This is optional, but If you are planning to join us for dinner, please reply at this link, so we can give the hotel a rough number of people to expect. But feel free to join us even if you don’t reply.

We want to say thank you to the Hilton for allowing us to meet there and being tolerant of the birds.
Please note there is construction on Hwy.11 as you head to the airport. Please move right immediately after the construction so you don’t miss the normal airport exit.

Hope to see everyone there Saturday night to send the martins on to Brazil to their over wintering grounds.

There were thousands of martins there last night. This is an amazing spectacle of Nature! Please come see it - you will be very glad you did!!
