Martin Colony History: Well established 90 cavity colony. Mostly plastic gourds with some custom cedar houses atop pilings out over the river. We live stream the activity on our website https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXKqSW ... Ph2tywu4eg

We are on the Maurice River. The Maurice is brackish and tidal. It meets the Delaware bay about three miles down at East Point, NJ. The area is remote and consists of dense marshland and swamp. Dragonflies abound.

Swallows arrive in mid August and finish nesting mid July. There is a large annual roost in mid August upriver a few miles at Mauricetown.

The nest is ready, leaves are coming in, eggs due any time.

Have a great martin season.

Best regards

Hugh @ www.terrapincove.org

Mite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.

Hey Terrapincove is there any way you can tilt the camera down a little more to view the center of the nest cup. If it were tilted a little more you could possibly get to view the female actually laying the eggs. And would be able to see more of the chicks when they hatch. Just wondering if that was an option or not. But it is still really ice to see what goes on in there when we can’t see them. Thank you JHCox

terrapincove,
I would like to get your permission to add your gourd cam to our website at www.iamartin.org
If you are ok with that, I would include a copyright with the link and your website name for credit to you. Thanks.
