Four ASYs came in just before dark yesterday, but I only had one gourd open and one house cavity open(where my first arrivals usually roost); however, two martins went to a gourd that was still blocked. I didn't want to lower the rack, as two had already gone into the open gourd. I thought the other two might leave as it was almost dark. To my surprise, they apparently went into the open house cavity because when I lowered the rack this morning to open the gourd, they flew out of the house cavity--always full of surprises, but pleasant ones! They caught me by surprise as they were two weeks earlier than last year. It has begun.

Wish you a good year! Looks like your weather will be wet but warm, should be good to go! Sounds like they liked those gourds, funny how they are.

Thanks, all, for the encouraging words. All four are still here, and perhaps a fifth came in just before dark last night. Optimistic.
