I am thrilled, more martins this time than I have ever had. A new experience to observe, too. The Blue Birds had virtually claimed the smaller Martin house. As of yesterday the martins became defensive and today they have moved in and the Blue Birds have moved back to their housing on a near by fence.. This incident has enhanced my entertainment as I sit on my front porch with coffee and watch. Also noticed the martins readily made use of the oyster shells that I put on the ground near the houses.

That’s awesome Delma! I’m happy you have some good entertainment to go with your coffee! Wish my martins would stand up to the HOSP. Went out to watch mine this morning and a sparrow pair had taken over one of my pair of martin’s gourd. They are trying to get it back, BUT! Those HOSP are a thorn in my side! Enjoy your martins!
