Well written story. I will take a copy to my parents in Kentucky this weekend. They've got a modest colony in Hardin County, Ky., and found one martin dead and probably lost a few more unfound.

We found 6 dead martins under the housing and from the looks of the colony, we lost a lot more than that. We were pretty well full (24 gourds), now I'd say we've got 12 - 14 pair. -- John
