I just looked at the migration chart , I dont see a yellow dot very close to me yet, after the nasty weather and rain , kinda glad about that, but I am anxious , dont know if I can stand another year without a pair...

from one Steve to another, be excited. i'm also one of the waitees, wannabees, newbies hoping this will be the year. good luck. for now, i spend most of the time lowering my housing to extract HOSP nests. I also installed a trap for a compartment, and caught a male HOSP within minutes. next thing is the air rifle, but that's a whole other topic. ;0

Ah , so you upgraded to a T-14 , those are schweet...always wanted one ...did you stick build it ?....those nasty sparrows , if they are there, its been my experience the martins will move on.

I have had guest today both M@F subbies ..................at first squatin and not entering the Conley...now they own it....I am so thrilled right now friends.....I will update more later on......Yay.....E haw !....

Tried to attract PMs 2004; began more earnest attempt in 2014.
Current home site consisting of 2 modified Trio M12Ks, 4 ChirpyNests, and assorted artificial gourds, all enclosed in owl/hawk cages.
2018 — 3 pairs
2019 — 6 pairs
2020 — 12 pairs; barred owls late in season
2021 — 17 pairs; enclosed housing
2022 – 14 pairs
2023 – 18 pairs
2024 – 18 pairs
2025 – 24 pairs
2026 –
Manage FILs colony & public park colony. Attempting to start a colony at a wildlife refuge.
~20 years of providing housing for cavity nesting birds including Bluebirds, Carolina Wrens, House Wrens, Carolina Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, Great-Crested Flycatchers, Northern Flickers, & Prothonotary Warblers.
Congrats. What time of day did you see them paying their visit?

...then about at least a dozen martins showed up in like a cloud of them....pure excitement...was about to come out of my skin..lol...I have to get out there now and get the daytime chatter fired up ! thanks for the response .Steve

you got that right , its been about fifteen years since I had a colony , I couldnt get them started at my last house because of predators ,savages and too many big trees...now I have hope....now for the funny...
I watched a pair try and get into the Conley intrance...flattening out with there head stuck in....eventually tail sticking out...lol..then plunk 1 in there!
comming out was a scream....the low rider belly slide..lol....so pleased with that entrance !Steve
