Tree Swallows in PA
In the middle of math class this morning, we looked out the window and there were two tree swallows flying around. I know they are tough, but I hope they are ready for the next few days of rough weather. Dan G in Bellefonte...I know you always wonder when they come back to our area! Hope you get martins this year. I had 9 pairs at my school this past year and 9 pairs at my home! A lot of babies fledged! Hopefully, some will head your way!

- Martin Colony History: Several colonies with in 6 mile radius.
Have had visitor every year 2014-24.
Two large trees removed in fall 2024 and moved T-14 to a more open location.
2025- 1 SY pair. Fledged 2.
2026- no pairs. One daily SYM here daily. Named him Riggs!
HunterH, congrats on the arrivals. Get your white feathers ready for your students! I keep an eye out! The forecast is not favorable to those early arrivals. After today, the forecast for the next week doesn't reach 40 degrees here. I hope they stay put till after that, but will let you know when they return.
I did move the box they used last year, a little further away from the T14. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm encouraged for this year to start a colony, as last year was a good year for fledging high numbers in PA
