We have an adult male flying around our gourds. I was watering my backyard chickens and heard him. This is too early for Martins in southeast Arkansas but I guess he doesn't know that. February 3 has been the earliest we have had them come back. Unless he decides not to stay, I will be buying crickets and cooking eggs.

Hey Two Gourds - I heard that.! That's Great that you have a Martin so soon. I've already ordered Crickets and Meal Worms even though I know my Bird's won't arrive till sometime in March for me here in North Carolina.

Oh my there seems to be a lot of early arrivals this year hoping they stay south I am afraid they will suffer when we get a cold spell, ,I have 4 thousand crickets in my freezer ready to go and last year trained about 10 of my martins too eat them and scrambled eggs too ,good luck this season
