Well now, I have never did this before so here goes. I saw a young martin fly down and hit the ground during a cold rain shower Tues. afternoon. So I gathered him or her up from under my propane tank and took her to the barn. I took a carboard box and put my trouble light from the work bench and turned it on the martin. He or she was in bad shape! so i decided to force feed it scrambled eggs. Well I got some of them down and the martin started to perk up with the heat and the eggs. So fed it some more and waited awhile and it had a movement. So in about an hour I turned it loose in the sunshine and it went to the gravel road and just sat there. Well I went on mowing the yard after the rain shower and just kept on watching the martin and no move. So I went out to it and it flew a little ways so I gathered it up and took it back over to where the houses was. Then I tossed it up into the air and it lit on my old t.v. perch momentarily and then on to the garden. Well when it went to the wet garden several martins went to it and it got up and I think that it went back to the perch for I looked everyplace for it around the garden and on the ground and no martin. So I think and would like to hope that it is back among the rest of the colony and is on the mend. Jon
