I live in northern Indiana and have only seen 3 Martins all season. We usually have birds the first week of April, but here it is the middle of May. I'm wondering if tornadoes and bad weather in the South killed off the Martins. Perplexed!

Martin Colony History: 2013 1 Breeding pair, eggs pinned by HS. And the war began!
2014 Nothing
2015 1 Breeding pair. 4 hatchlings
2016 Cold wiped out Martins
2017 Nothing

It has been a really bad Spring for Martins.

Lots of rainy and cold weather has hurt the population. Hopefully, it has also slowed migration and all the ASY have not come through.

That's a great question... I have been wondering and watching the SY's report for different states, and it appears they are running late. But of course that is my thoughts only.
