Friends or Foes??????
The PM's I have at present don't seem to like them when they come in close proximity to the their house but seem to tolerate them otherwise.
Whats the skinny on this??

PM's and Mockingbirds
Dick,
Most birds are territorial when nesting, some species more than others. I've watched my martins dive at grackles, kildeer, house sparrows, starlings and house finches, to name a few. I think it's more of a warning than anything else. Of that list, only sparrows and starlings pose a threat (and maybe an occasional grackle), but when they go into protective mode, anything gets buzzed.

the mocking bird that lives near my colony sings a near perfect pm call almost every night. The first night I heard his rendition of the pm alarm call I jumped out of my bed to check on my colony. My pm's have been very loud this season and I guess this mocking bird is just paying us back.
