I have 3 males and a female here today but the report page won't allow me to log on. I can log on the forum but not the scout page and it doesn't send a new password when requested.
I did watch the video on the new reporting page.
Thanks,
Ron

Ron, exact same thing happened to me when I first tried to get on the new system. I sent a message to the PMCA office and they were able to send me the needed email with new password.

I'm pretty sure the forum login is different. Mine is anyway. The login I have to use is for the purple martin store.

Ron, Louise has been away from her office for a few days on a birding adventure. Here is a reply to another post on the forum that might help you:
"Two ways to report - use the Submit Scout Reports link here: https://www.purplemartin.org/research/8 ... val-study/ and it will ask you to log in to your PMCA account (not your forum account) - the one used to join, renew, shop online, etc. If you don't know your account info, we can help you get set up.
Or, email your report to [email protected]
View the video on main web page to see how it works: https://www.purplemartin.org/ "
It is my understanding of the change that it is part of a transition to the new website that will enable PMCA to use a single account for its members in multiple facets of its operation--membership, the store and the different scientific studies it conducts. This might also help better identify those users, whereas the forum is used by anyone, including spammers and folks using only a nickname. It is also my understanding that this change will allow users a link to reset their password if it is forgotten. Some have posted that it is possible to reset the password to match the forum password if they wish.
As one person pointed out in a thread about this change--it is not uncommon in today's communications to require users to change passwords, or to modify the way in which passwords are used. I personally have accounts with financial institutions that require me to change my password every six months. While this is inconvenient it is for my own best interest.
The fact is: a lot of people are reporting scouts and PMCA employees are working diligently to improve the new system and to assist people in filing reports. In my opinion the greatest value of scout reports is for individual users to have a running report of their returns over a period of those years they report, and for new users to get a general idea of when scouts might be arriving in their area. I believe scout reporting benefits participants more than PMCA, and it is well worth taking the time to set up accounts as PMCA has requested to utilize those benefits.
As of last weekend martins, that were scarce at mid Feb. in many southern areas, including Texas, are now pouring in to the country. Best wishes to those who are waiting.

I have tried to log on to report my scout sighting, but it won't accept my login password. I've tried ordering gourds and have not been able to log in. No one from this website will reply for my request for a new password. I don't know what the problem is.

Steve Malone,
I would suggest you report your scouts by email at the above link: [email protected] and tell them about your problems in ordering gourds. As stated above the forum login is not used to make purchases or to report scout arrivals. I know PMCA staff is working to accommodate this transition. I would hope someone will get back with you tomorrow.

It's too complicated to report now so I'm just going to keep records of my colony arrivals myself. I've been keeping records since 1975, so it's not that important to me to spend all this time trying to report to this site. There's enough people already doing it. I've requested my password to be sent to my email address several times and it's never been done. So I'll just observe the other landlords reports and I'll be happy with that.
Thanks
Thanks

The password reset thing appears to be broken or atleast for most people. hang in there and send the e-mail to the address John posted. You will get a response.

This new system, though wonderful, still needs some streamlining in some areas.
Hopefully they'll get back with you soon.
Scout reports like yours are greatly appreciated, and very valuable to the PMCA.
