On Board!!!!
Had a pair show up this morning. Preening themselves in the morning sunshine sitting on the perches above the gourd rack, we had the rack lowered and all gourds were closed as there was a pair of house sparrows that have been taking up residence in one of the gourds so placed a gourd with a trap in it and closed all the rest hoping we could trap them before the martins showed up. well when we saw the martins we went out and opened a few on the side we could see from the house. In the mean time the 2 martins left. soon after we got back in the house the sparrows showed up, husband took the shot gun out, before he got out very far the one went in the gourd with the trap. Got Him! Husband never noticed it went in, he was concentrating on the other one that was hopping around on the rack. he got within about 20' of the rack when he got a clear shot and "POW" he got that one! So we got rid of both of them in a very short time.
We were in and out the rest of the day and so I didn't get to see if they came in for the night or not, but very hopeful they did. Can't wait to see if they are here in the morning!
