Bad rains but 50 dozens of eggs from Sams Club saved me. My wife and I scrambles every day and my five feeders would be empty of scrambled eggs and shells the next day. I am waiting for my last little guy to leave the nest. Seven pms are going crazy trying to make him leave. They left
Aug 11th last year and it is getting close to that now.
final count was 418 eggs and 396 fledged. lucky I didn't have to use the 260 body warmers this yearice. I will be so sad when this last little guy leaves

- Martin Colony History: 24 Super and Excluder Gourds on two gourd racks, all SREH. Full occupancy. My philosophy is to maximize fledge % with existing cavities rather than adding gourds to grow colony, thus providing opportunities for new colony expansion. Fledge over 100 nestlings yearly from 24 gourds. Band nestlings in cooperation with state university. 2019 Adendum: Reduced colony size to 12 gourds to focus on more intensive management regimen.
Sounds like your efforts made for a very successful season. 6 egg per nest average and 95% fledge rate are outstanding. To what do you attribute your egg counts? I am very impressed! My relatively few pairs had one nest of 3 eggs and only one nest of 7 eggs.All the others were evenly split between 5 and 6 eggs.
