The hot weather certainly has caused an increase in boat traffic on the river near our colony site, so our martins are staying closer to home for their food supply. But things are looking good today for my learning curve to get a big boost today, and I am not complaining! It is loads of fun to watch our martins feed on the dragonfly population that has moved away from the river too.
We got a special treat this evening watching the aerial predator-prey antics from our deck.
We really enjoyed watching this :!:

2013 - 14 nesting pairs and several singles
2014 - 8 nesting pairs
2015 - 5 nesting prs w/mostly ASY parents
