Predicting Iowa's first arrival.

Since Iowa's first Scout arrival should be happening soon,
would anyone out there care to make a prediction on what
date that might occur.

Last year the first two arrived on March 14. I am looking every day and keeping an eye on the Missouri posts. If I may venture a guess I would have to guess March 28 because it may just be a little warmer.

Had checked the scout report before my post and no dot appeared, must be a time laps between post and marking the map. Have to look where Williamson is on the map.....right north of Chariton. Guess I will have to hope for mine to return by the 28th

The reports go up as soon as they come in, but staff cannot update the map that often. The IA report has not been verified yet, we are asking for more info from the reporter. But should be more reports from IA any day now.

I tend to be a "benefit of a doubt" person when it comes to scout reports; but have to admit I was yearning for more information too on that first time report for Iowa. Based on all previous scout report years, and the signs of this spring season for Iowa, I predict next report for March 26th.

The lone Iowa scout report has been removed. I'm assuming there was a valid reason; mistakes happen. Without belaboring the issue, just want to add a thanks to PMCA for being on top of it. Now I feel a little better about leaving entrances closed a little longer for easier s&s trapping prior to scout arrival.

Hang in there. It took me 8 years before the first pair and pairs have increased every year. The way the weather is I hope they wait a little before making an appearance. I have not had any luck in supplemental feeding in the past and I get antsy when the weather is too cold for bugs to fly.

I will stand by my early prediction for early scout report.

They are back in Iowa! Bob Flam reported a sighting and is shown when you click on Iowa, no dot yet but there will be. Bob is a long time martin host and has an impressive collection of housing. His colony is about 30 miles west of me and I am expecting a visit any day now. GO BOB.
