Feeling Blessed This Morning!

I am feeling very lucky that we have two pair of Martins. One pair are laying on eggs and the other are just now starting their nest. One of these photos show the two male Martins on the perches while their mates are in their gourds. This is what my site looks like this year. If things go well I will eventually upgrade my poles to the pulley type. As you can see we are surrounded by trees but at a good distance. The two big oak trees are about 80 ft in front of the Bluebird houses. The Bluebird houses are facing our backyard.

Congrat.s Jose, what a really, really nice setup .It looks picture perfect! Any Martin would be happy (& proud! ) to nest there. I do'nt have to break down your setup, it speaks for itself! A+++, Good luck!

I have always wanted Martins. I have made so many mistakes on placement of the site in the past. Now I just have to keep them safe so they will come back again and again.

You will see from my photo how close our trees are but it took us about 3years to get martins. Now we have a condo full. It is one of the greatest joys of my life to take care of these birds. As soon as you get 1 pair more and more will come. They do like swallows. It is a companion bird as they all fly together and when there is a a hawk around the swallows will let them know. I have seen them chase a hawk away. We also have many swallow houses close to the martin house. Good luck so exciting
