Our unusually warm April weather has turned to mid-50's and rain.
The whole colony has been sitting forlornly on the gourd racks in the rain looking pitiful. But they weren't sitting on the Bed & Breakfast platform feeder pleading for food.
Regardless, I scrambled some eggs in the microwave, lowered the B&B and found... a huge, soggy owl pellet in one of the feeding trays.
The owl pellet is gone and a few martins have snacked on scrambled eggs, along with the Blue Jays and Robins.

Mary. Yep, cool dreary, drizzly day. I see on the Weather Channel, it's going to get warm tomorrow, then another day or so of this. At least most days, it's getting warm enough for insects to fly. CUL Lou

Hey, Lou, I'm surely not going to complain about the weather this spring.
One year ago my colony was eating scrambled eggs from the B&B, too, but the weather was much worse!
