For us teachers out here in Forumland: Can we have permission to post pictures of the different Purple Martins for our class Twitter site at Smith Elementary? It will help get our teachers and students involved in identifying the birds as the arrive.

**Made the changes and Louis will look it over! 3:30 p.m.

New rebuilt house has just moved from the kitchen floor to the garage. So excited to get started again - even though it is a ton of work! Our students and teachers stand around all day and take in the martin rock stars at work and play.

Martinteach,

Unless there is a copywrite on an image, I think it is just fine to use the image. I may be wrong, but I think you are safe with using the pic. Great to see educators using the website to expand the minds of youngsters about the martins.
ImageMite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.

A couple of suggestions: everything on the PMCA web site is copyrighted, to protect the PMCA's ownership of items it created; see http://www.purplemartin.org/main/copyright.html

But, of course we want landlords, groups, etc to share information to promote martin conservation, landlord education, PMCA projects like Scout Arrival Study, etc.

The best way to do that is by posting links to PMCA pages & projects, like this: http://www.purplemartin.org/scoutreport/ or http://www.purplemartin.org/MartinID/martinid.html and http://www.purplemartin.org/MartinID/martinid.html#SYM

When people copy an image and repost, the PMCA's copyright still exists, but those who look at the photo down the line won't know that. So we greatly appreciate people sharing links, rather than copying images and reposting.

We have youtube, twitter, facebook, and the website available to help share information, and thank all of you who help us promote martins & educate people. If something you want to share is not in a good format, let us know and we'll work with you to make things work.
