There was a very noticable increase in sy martins at my site today. There
were at least six that showed up.I noticed them because for the first time
in a long time there was a lot of fighting today.Just now at dark there are a few just sitting on the housing checking out some gourds to see if their occupied.I know that some people have posted if it is to late for to attract martins, obviously if there are still sy showing up here in Texas it is not.
This is my fifth year at this and my colony was started by a sy pair in early May my first year.I didn't erect my house until very late April of that year. Was there also a big influx for other DFW landlords today?

Same here today in Rockwall. Lots of noise and "nubies" trying to figure out the SREH's. They even invaded my nest cam around 1:30 this afternoon, but that got all straightened out. Don't know how many but probably an extra 6 to 12 birds. Glad I was home to see it all.
Big influx here in Fort Worth...maybe 8-10 birds, mostly females. I watched one subbie male take off to the north right at dark. I sure wish he would stay. I need males! I don't have any unattached males to court all these subbie females that are showing up. It was fun to watch all the new activity.

I wouldn't say alot, had two SY males this morning and aggrivating everyone. Still have 5 compartments to fill.
Patrick, I'll trade you a male for a female!!
Putting up a BB house this afternoon- not holding my breath
And there are two less HS in the world, but I'm positive their friends will return!!

This is my first year in East Texas and I had given up hope of getting any Martins this year when 6 showed up Saturday. Iamb not real good at identifying young males and females, but 2 are definitely mature males. They've been here for two days. Maybe they'll stay?
Same situation here in Anna, TX. I had 9 ASY pairs prior to this weekend, most of them in the T14 and associated gourds. But much new activity on Sunday on the new 16 SG rack that I installed this year. There are possibly 8-10 new subbies looking to pair up. There should be many more in the next 2 weeks.
They are here.....
