Easy T-14 Hub Design

Anyone who has a T-14 and would like a quick and easy way to secure your 4 sections or, remove them with ease.
Well, I have designed a hub that takes all the effort out of mounting or, dismounting your 4 house sections.

For years I would get ready to put my house up for the season or, take it down at the end, and would have to screw in or, back out
4 wood screws in each house section to install or, remove the sections of the house.

I modified my hub's by installing 2- 3/8" bolts
on each of the 4 sides of the hub. Each side now quickly attaches or, removes the section of house in minutes by putting on or, taking off
a flat washer and a nut on the inside backwall of each house section. Way easier than messing with wood screws.

Next I inserted a 2" Sch. 40 PVC pipe through the center of the hub
so the wood doesn't drag on the pole and allows it to glide up and down with ease. The couplers hold the pipe in place.

Thank you Matt. I realize there are various ways of mounting a T-14 but, anyone using this style of hub will love how easy it makes it. It will work on round or, square pole setups.

That is alot like what i use on my T-14 except i have it on a square pole i use all thread and it also acts with rollers to take slack out of my setup.

That's great Randy. This design can be used on round or square poles. That's the beauty of it. Makes life easy, doesn't it?

I made a similar looking carrier for my T14. I enclosed all 4 side and used 4 T Nuts for each section. I liked the idea of running bolts through holes instead of shooting screws in and out each year. I also made the carrier so I can take four screws out of the top and it will come apart and "unwrap" from around the pole.
I have some pics somewhere I will dig up later.

Sounds good. Anyone who has a T-14 knows what a pain mounting and dismounting can be with screws. I even added 2"x2" blocks on the backside of the each section so the weight of the section actually rest on top of the hub and the bolts mearly hold the section against the hub.

Dale, I no longer have a T-14 house but I kept the pole and the carrier that is very much like the one you have shared with us. I turned mine into a gourd rack by drilling holes for 3/8 metal rods that I hang 12 gourds on and it works really well.

Keith, Very good thinking on your part for salvaging your T-14 hub. Looks really good. I am working on one right now to hang under my house. Here is a picture of it. It is a 6 gourd hexagon hub that will attach to the bottom of the house and travel up/down the pole with the house.

Your welcome Keith. Those are 3/8" threaded rods on it. It is pretty sturdy and should easily handle 6 gourds.
