Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.

Haaaa… the infamous bird blenders that adorn our landscape. I suppose the tree hugging eco-freaks didn't consider how many migrating birds these guillotines kill. Sorry I had to hi-jack your thread.

You can hi-jack anytime! As long as I don't get the back lash from the tree hugging eco-freaks. I just thought it was funny when I saw it. I've always wondered how those things will withstand an EF5 tornado. Probably not a place for the storm chasers to be.

Hi, JL! Hope you are doing good. Hot where you are? :)

Doesn't even take a tornado to take one out. A field of them back in Illinois had one taken out in just a bad wind. It was five months before someone went out to fix it. People in Europe are showing problems with vertigo because of them.
