What's probably happening is that the ASY male has taken interest in your site and is bringing in females for a visit.
Males seek out new housing sites and the fact that you've got the attention of an ASY male is promising. I think colonies that are started by ASY males tend to get several pairs of birds, including SY pairs, later in the season. Your guy may continue bringing in females for a few weeks. Hopefully he will convince one to stay and the pair will begin spending the night.
I do think ASY males that are not strongly bonded to a particular site sometimes traveling about, bringing females to other sites as well. Even if he eventually nests at another site, you may still pick up a SY pair later.

Hi Keith - My colony up at the lake was started by an ASY male. I now have 6 pairs - 5 asy pairs and 1 asymale/sy female. Your asy pair may be just looking for a new home. I don't know where mine came from, only I do know of a house that was destroyed not far me, and this could be those birds looking for a new site. Anyway, worked out for me and it worked out for the pms
Good luck this season
