Hello Everyone,
I've been going to work alot earlier than normal and went outside to get in the car when I heard that familiar sound of the dawnsinging! It was about 5:30 A.M.! I never heard them before and I know Steve Kroneke posted that he has heard them too! But I guess going to work has it's advantages after all! HA! What a beautiful sound to hear my martins singing that dawnsong! You all have to get outside and listen for the song around 5:00 A.M. to hear this! It is so neat! Thanks John!
WOW!! HAVE YOU HEARD YOUR MARTINS DAWNSINGING LATELY??
Hi John,
I too am an early riser that leaves for work at 5:30 AM. I love to hear my birds Dawnsinging in the morning. One of the curious things to me is that they don't sing every day. This morning there wasn't any Dawnsinging but some quite warbling inside the gourds. Other mornings I can hear them singing from very high up. Our weather here has been very constant lately (no rain in two months) so weather doesn't seem to be a factor in getting them out singing in the wee small hours.
Does anyone have a thought or theory why Dawnsinging is an irregular occurrence. (At least at my place.) Steve Kronke, what has your experience been. Any other super colony landlords like to chime in?
Thanks
James
