It's been a very exciting year for us so far. We're up to at least five permanent residents and have counted as many as seven on the housing. During today's nest check, we discovered that both of our nesting pairs each have an egg today. So we're up to two eggs!!! Hopefully more to come over the next few days :wink:

I don’t have the perfect site. One open flyway with trees within 80 ft. I do have a small pond they utilize during the heat of Summer. (2017) HEAVY HAWK PREDATION

Martin Colony History: 5th year hostess. Currently 58 confirmed breeding pair. 218 Fledged, 35 older nestlings, 2 new nests with 8 nestlings. 100% occupancy

Way to go Mike,
The fun is just beginning. We have our first hatchlings from our founding pair Buddy and Darlin, 4 fat naked plump wiggley little pms.
They are such a joy and a great stress reliever at the end of the day.

2014 37 pair, 211 eggs, 193 Hatched, 178 Fledged, 1 nest of 5 young left! Late start but picked up speed quickly!

Wonderful news, Mike. Those first eggs and hatchlings are so exciting!
2010- 1 pair, 5 eggs, 3 fledged (First Year)
2011- 8 pair, 5 nesting pair, 22 eggs, 11 fledges
Lost one female and her 4 eggs, 5 eggs
destroyed by HS!
2012- 12 pair (10 nesting pair), 48 Fledglings!
2013 - 17 pair - 80 Fledglings!!

Martin Colony History: 22 year landlord, 14 at current residence..offering 9 racks and a homemade T-8 for 166 total cavities. 160 Pair in 2018 Racks consist of a Deluxe 12, AAA 16, Starburst 16, 2 K-18 Series, Super 24, 2 Gemini, Multi-purpose/two trio’s/4gourds and a T-8..Great hobby to be involved in..

Looks like on the second pic, the bottom martin looks like a SY male.. good luck rest of the year..

Martin Colony History: Colony started - 2007 with one pair
As of 2018 - 84 cavities offered, max # of pairs hosted - 82.

2016- 33 pairs at Raleigh site, 1 pair at home site.
