Hope all have a good year and have a lot of fledglings. With a lot of new SY's, my chances should be better next year.
No Luck again this year!

Well, I seen a ASY male on Easter Day. That will be my only martin I have seen all this year. I suppose I may have 2 weeks that maybe I can still see some come by. But my possibilities are diminishing pretty fast. I guess I will have to hope for next year.

D'Nese.
Send them on there way. Right now I am pest free and of course free rent. So once I have said pest free I will be dealing with them tomorrow. We have had threats of sever thunder storms for the past 4 days. And continue through Monday. So My rack has been down so IT will not blow over. I would like to get it up. I think I would have better changes if it was higher up of of the ground.
It would be nice to have them again.

As you seen before Stephen,
Never, never, give up. I have already decided that if I ever move from here(which I never plan to do) one of my pre-requisites is going to be, is there purple martin activity in the area? LOL. Give it all you got and try everything you can think of! Good luck.

There has been only 7 subadults reported for illinois. You will probably get a colony started with SY's. You still have a great chance yet to get some without a doubt IMO. Hang in there and hope the very best for you my friend.

Ron -- How many Subbies do you think you have by now.. How many Adult pairs do you have.. So far you are the only one with a Subbie in West Virginia as of today. Good luck on your season..

Stephen, Don't give up. I am north of you about 30 miles. My colony was started by a SY pair that did not show up until the male (end of May) and female around June 7th. That was about 8 years ago and I now have a nice established site.
My site was started by a SY pair. I was expecting that pair to come back the next year as a ASY pair, well they did not as I had 3 sy pairs the following year.
You have time!!!
