I have seen lots of Martins starting to come into POC. There is a momentary break in the drizzle and rain, so hopefully they will get something to eat other than scrambled eggs.
I have taken a couple of pics of them resting up for the next leg of their journey. Maybe you will recognize some of yours.
Happy Martineering!

The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.
Adrian,
I'm waiting waiting in Kansas. When your first picture rolled out on my screen I said out loud, "Wow. Look at that." How stunning. Thanks for sharing. Shouldn't be long now for us!

WOW - great photos, Adrian! Thanks for sharing! They look cold & tired & hungry. I'm sure you'll help them out and send them on their way. What courageous, weary travelers they are!

So did I...except I thought it was another one from this year. I thought wow that guy in POC always has tons come through. I saw my own comment that I was waiting. Well...same thing now. However, interesting that I got my first ASY male last year four days after this photo was posted. Maybe that was mine on the lower right perch. Oh no...that looks like a decoy.
