Kentucky Landlords,

Many reports are listed for March and our temperatures have been very low for six days now and several more to go. I was just wondering how everyone?s birds were doing. :???:

Have you lost any birds?

Are you feeding them?

If not and they are still surviving, how are they making it? Are they flying in this weather?

Actual highs and lows reported at Lexington Airport.

March 17 53 32
March 18 47 25
March 19 44 25
March 20 45 33
March 21 40 24
March 22 42 19
March 23 48 23

Forecast for Lexington, Ky.

March 27 is forecast to be 54 degrees but raining. :-(

I have not seen any PMs at my site this year and I?m thankful. Last year the first arrived on March 18th.

Our weather forecast is somewhat better than yours. Sunday is suppose to get to 51 with partly cloudy skies, than each day it gets warmer.

My martins spit out crickets I put in their gourds yesterday, so they get none from me today. I'll try again tomorrow as they seemed fine today, although they came in very early today in the afternoon with it being in the 40's, breezy and intermittent showers. They are usually out til after 6-6:30 pm this time of year.

But Sunday should finally bring in spring, and then it should be in the 60's and 70's by mid-week.

Attached is a photo I took of one pair of martins in the snow we had earlier this week.
