Wonderful Sound

While out washing my pickup I heard martins. Was not able to locate them, but that sound belongs only to them. Wish I had my house up, but will have to wait till my son gets here tomorrow to raise. If they had flown over the house, think I would have hit the panic button. So anxious to hang the gourd on the house that one of my posting friends sent last season. Hopefully that sixth sense will entice the martins, he told me martins had nested in the gourd. I have kept it safely, dry, and ready to hang.

Congratulations! I heard three and saw them circling overhead Sunday morning. They didn't stay....perhaps they were on their way to your house? : )
Mine have shown up on March 7th so I'm scanning the skies

Thus far the martins has not come over the lowered house, at least I have not seen them that close. They may be thinking if they did, I would never be landlord, I would be passed out. I keep hearing them and saw two or three a couple of times, but soaring over a house they always come , too. The crazy ideas we posting friends go through, its nice we can be a support group. Some people may not understand us, especially if they aren't of the purple martin world.
