I heard that familiar sound this morning about 8 o'clock . I saw three circling overhead. My houses are empty tonight, but at least I know they are in the area. I'll be out on the porch scanning the skies in the morning!

I heard it yesterday (at someone elses house) & have spent the day outside with an ear turned upward.

Nothing!

I totally understand- the time of year when nothing gets done in the house because my heart AND body are outside scanning the skies- at least twice a day. Hubby gets to join me in the evening when we sit and watch them come home. I do hope mine return.

DonnaK...Congratulations!!! I bet they will be back to stay within a few days!
Abe came home early this year & so far, he is the only one spending the night, that I've noticed. I didn't even think he was until I checked his gourd & there were signs of a nest bowl in his gourd. This is only the beginning of my 3rd season so I'm still a novice to the behavior at their return but Abe didn't spend the night for several nights. He might have snuck in after dark, but I didn't see him!
Hope you have a wonderful PM year...I sure am looking forward to it here!
